Gaddafi forces hit back at rebel strongholds

Forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi have mounted fresh attacks against rebel positions in the east of the country. Reports say rebels have abandoned the oil port of Ras Lanuf in the face of bomb and rocket attacks.
