Foodstuffs speculation contributes to volatile food prices

Critics argue it's unethical to gamble on food, and bankers and funds earning money by speculating on foodstuffs have been discredited as "hunger makers". While speculation on foodstuffs is still relatively new to Europe, it's become big business in the USA. Many say the practice contributes to volatile commodity prices, which hit the poor the hardest.
