Fashion Fairs

Munich is the place to go for sports outfits. In Düsseldorf, the established fashion scene meets while Berlin has become the center for avantgarde fairs.

The International Trade Fair for Sports Equipment and Fashion (ispo) in Munich takes place twice a year and shows the latest trends in sporting goods and clothing. In the summer of 2007, 821 exhibitors from 35 countries and some 17,500 visitors visited the fair. The fair also has spin-off events in Moscow and Shanghai.

cpd Düsseldorf, billed as the world's largest fashion fair, takes place twice a year and covers all aspects of fashion from accessories to fur to wedding dresses. 2007's summer fair drew some 1,770 exhibitors from 51 countries and 42,600 visitors. The winter event is slightly smaller.
Next dates: Feb. 10 to Feb. 12, 2008

Berlin is also beginning to establish itself as a major fashion trade fair location. Bread & Butter and Berlin Fashion Week fairs take place twice a year around the same time.

Next dates: Jan. 16 to Jan. 18, 2008 (Bread & Butter), January 2008 (Berlin Fashion Week, exact date to be determined)
