Maastricht in the Netherlands had an immense problem with traffic jams. Obviously this doesn't make it unique, every city in the world has traffic problems. But this southwestern Dutch city did something about it - and this week, Europe's first double-decker tunnel was officially opened. By all means, a technical masterpeice.
