Myanmar's leading opposition party, the National League for Democracy, has welcomed the move by the junta towards dialogue with its leader Aung San Suu Kyi. But it has also urged the regime not to set any preconditions for the talks. Meanwhile, two Deutsche Welle journalists, who were in Myanmar when the protest started, have returned to Germany.
