The controversial Fahd Academy primary school in Bonn has been instructed to close its doors to the majority of its pupils after the Cologne city government accused it of becoming a magnet for Islamists from all over Germany. German public broadcaster, WDR, reported that the school will consequently restrict attendance to pupils who neither hold a German passport, nor are permanent residents in Germany. The ruling means that only 14 of the 67 children enrolled at the school will be granted permission to continue learning the Fahd way. Parents are now faced with the difficult task of finding replacement schools for their children and integrating them into a new regime. Two schools which will be most affected by the change have already prepared for the influx and created new posts for Arabic-speaking teachers, who will teach the young scholars for at least two hours a week.
