Despite great success in eradication, more efforts needed to reach all children with polio vaccine

Right up until the 1980s, hundreds of thousands of children around the world got infected with the crippling polio virus every year. Thanks to a massive global vaccination campaign, polio has been eradicated from most countries except Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan. World in Progress speaks to UNICEF communications officer, Sherine Guirguis about the impact of eliminating polio.
