Bundesliga Round 25 in pictures
Schalke have a perfect record against their "favorite enemies" Dortmund in 2012-13. Bayern narrowly avoided a shocking upset, and Greuther Fürth had better start getting used to the thought of life in division two.
Schalke defeat arch-rivals Dortmund
Julian Draxler is one of Germany's most promising young talents and he put the Royal Blues on the road to victory by opening the scoring. Hosts Schalke dominated the first half and went into the dressing room ahead. Dortmund got one back, but the match ended 2-1 for the hosts.
Düsseldorf narrowly miss getting points in Munich
Fortuna Düsseldorf keeper Fabian Giefer was in amazing form, as his side defied the odds and a huge Bayern advantage. But in the end, Bayern managed to overcome the young goalie often enough to earn a 3-2 victory.
Mainz bid for a spot in Europe
It wasn't pretty but Mainz got the job done against the Bundesliga's third-best team Leverkusen. They shut down striker Stefan Kiessling and got the lone goal of the match on a penalty to secure a 1-0 win. The three points put Mainz on course for the Europa League next season.
Wolfsburg knock five past Freiburg
In a game with no shortage of goals, the one Ivica Olic scored with a bicycle kick will dominate the highlight reels. The Wolves had to overcome a deficit after two minutes in this one, but their attack was more than up to the job. The final score was 5-2. It was hard to tell that Freiburg had the second-best defense in Germany.
Fürth sink even lower
The game at home against second-bottom Hoffenheim was a must-win affair for the Bundesliga's worst team, Greuther Fürth. But they got spanked 3-0, and after the match, their club president admitted the team can start planning for next season - in the second division.
Augsburg's comeback stalls
Third-from-bottom Augsburg had racked up 12 points in 2013 in their bid to repeat last year's miracle escape from relegation. But they ran into an opponent, Nuremberg, who were determined to put distance between themselves and the drop zone. The result was a 2-1 home loss.
Bremen battle Gladbach to a draw
Bremen had been absolutely bleeding goals of late so they fielded a very defensive line-up in Mönchengladbach. The result was a decent 1-1 draw. The lone point doesn't help much in the standings, but perhaps it will give the Northern Germans confidence for the coming weeks.
Frankfurt and Hanover fail to score
Some days the ball just doesn't want to go in, but to give it a chance you have to get it somewhere near the goal. And neither hosts Hanover nor visitors Frankfurt did that very often in Sunday's early match. The 0-0 draw extends Frankfurt's goalless streak to more than eight hours.
Rudnevs' goal puts Hamburg past Stuttgart
The story of Sunday's late match is quickly told. In minute 50, Hamburg striker Artjoms Rudnevs volley homed a cross. Thumped it home. Really smacked it home. Absolutely blasted it home. And since hosts Stuttgart never posed much of a threat, that was enough to secure a 1-0 win and take Hamburg up to sixth in the table.
