Sir Richard Fitzherbert, ninth baronet of Tissington was 25 when he inherited the village after his uncle's sudden death. The estate covers over 1,000 hectares of land, several dozen houses and yards, plus a mansion house. He soon discovered that the building was in a terrible condition. Sir Richard found a creative way of raising the funds needed for renovation. He rents out the estate - sometimes even his home - for wedding functions.
