Brazil tries to to reduce high maternal mortality rates

CowieApril 4, 2012

Maternal mortality in Brazil has come under fire from the UN, Despite being a booming economy, out of 100,000 women giving birth , 75 die - rates similar to much poorer countries. One of the reasons is the underfunded public health system. In an attempt to reduce these high rates a new law was introduced earlier this year, yet is was removed only a month later and is currently being reworked.
