An all-German final: A dream come true
For the first time in Champions League history two German teams will be facing off in the final. See here how Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund beat their Spanish opponents Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Take that!
Bayern Munich: The new football superpower. Barcelona were without a chance facing the onslaught of the "red fury" from Bavaria. When Thomas Müller brought the final score up to 3 - 0 on Wednesday night he sealed the historic defeat for what has been the best football team in the world.
Barcelona watching the action
Another prime performance: Following a precise pass from David Alaba, Bayern's Arjen Robben hit the ball into the top corner, making it 1-0 for for the visitors in the 48th minute. The Barca players were left to look on helplessly - most notably from the bench, where an unfit Lionel Messi was forced to watch.
No simple waltz through
Borussia Dortmund went into their match against Real Madrid with a great deal of optimism following their 4-1 victory in the first leg of the semifinal. For a long time Dortmund looked sure to make it to the final, until...
Last minute shock
...With no more than five minutes to go Real changed gears: First it was Benzema who scored and then Ramos shocked Dortmund when he made it 2-0. Real was suddenly only one goal away from going through as the referee gave them a total of six minutes in injury time.
Dance with Bavaria's torrero
Mario Gomez, who has dropped out of Bayern's starting eleven, got a chance to prove himself again in the first leg of the semi final. He was subbed in and scored the fourth goal for Bayern paving the way for the comfortable 4-0 victory.
Hoeness has a reason to celebrate
Bayern Munich's embattled club president Uli Hoeness had every reason to rejoice. The team is unfazed by the tax evasion scandal surrounding the club's big boss.
Make it four!
Football is a team sport. But sometimes one man alone can make the difference: Robert Lewandowski was that man in the first leg of Dortmund's semifinal. He scored all four goals against Real Madrid. But next season he may well be playing for Bayern Munich.
Ronaldo hits one home
...Real's star player Cristiano Ronaldo scored the lone goal during Real Madrid's 4-1 loss in Dortmund. Now the rumors are growing louder that he may be moving to Paris next season.
