A look back after the death of Wolfgang Wagner

For classical music lovers all around the world, the green hill in Bayreuth is probably the most famous hill in Germany. The death of 90 year old Wolfgang Wagner, grandson of the famous composer Richard Wagner, is the end of an era spanning more than 50 years of wagner Music festivals. In 1951, Wolfgang took control of the annual festival with his brother, Wieland, ensuring the world would always have the opportunity to hear the work of one of Germany's most revered and controversial music figures. The fact that the operatic marathons were always sold out was indeed testomony to the immense success Wolfgang achieved in his lifetime.
