A battle on many fronts: Issues in the U.S. presidential election

https://p.dw.com/p/5loQ

The upcoming U.S. presidential election is the first since 1972 to take place at a time of war. It is the first presidential election since the attacks on New York and Washington on September 11th, 2001, and the first during the on-going war on terrorism. It is the first presidential contest since the invasion of Iraq. Little surprise then that the war on terrorism and Iraq have been among the main issues in the campaign leading up to next-week’s election.
