When it's not been overcome by soccer madness, Frankfurt is the financial heart of Germany. And you can't miss the banking district, distinguished by its many skyscrapers. Click on the video below to explore the history of the city with visits to Römer Square, which is the backdrop for the old town hall and the Kaiserdom cathedral, where Holy Roman emperors were once crowned.

Frankfurt is a rich blend of history, art and culture. Hardly any other German city boasts as many museums in such a small area. Among the best is the Städel Museum, which houses a world famous collection of 17th-century paintings.

Click on the second video to travel to nearby Bad Homburg. Local resident Jasmina Esfahani offers her personal tips for what to see in her town: Homburg Castle, the spa gardens and the trout farm.
