School bus crashes into a store in Germany
January 16, 2018At least 47 people were injured in the Tuesday morning bus crash in Eberbach, near Mannheim, German police said. According to the local Hitradio FFH, three children suffered serious injuries. OfficIals said that as many as five lives could still be at risk. German public broadcaster ZDF tweeted a photo from the scene.
The school bus reportedly swerved from its lane, collided with several cars at a crossroads and eventually crashed head-on into an electronics store. Three rescue helicopters were deployed to the scene in the southwest German town, according to a spokeswoman.
Police said that the number of injured is not definite. The bus driver reportedly suffered light injuries.
The exact cause of the accident was not immediately clear.

The authorities set up an assembly point for parents and uninjured children near the site of the crash.
