Ghanaian emigrants head north to Libya

Olivesi, MarineOctober 17, 2012

More than a million foreign workers fled Libya in 2011. Many of the migrants were from Egypt, Tunisia and sub-Saharan Africa. Several thousand of them came from one small town in Ghana, called Nkoranza. Despite the risks and uncertainty these emigrants face in post-revolution Libya, many in Nkoranza still pack their bags and head north in search of a better life.
